Busy Weekends

Weekends around here are very busy...especially for a baby and her daddy. This is how they spend their time.

Penelope & Daddy Day

Today was Penelope and Daddy day.  I was in the Arizona room most of the day (except for feeding times) working away at my craft table.  Today's craft was a Tummy Time Mat for Penelope to work on strengthening her neck and back muscles.  I used scraps of fabric from my bucket and made her a cute little mat to play on.  It has a pillow to prop her up on along with 4 loops that snap so we can attach toys for her to play with.  The pillow will snap off too so I can wash everything as needed.  It turned out pretty cute. I am pretty excited about it.  Penelope hung out with her Daddy all day.  They watched tv, played on the computer, kept up with the Aggie baseball game and napped.  It was a hard day for them...

She seemed to like it.  We played on it for about 5 minutes. At first she tried to pull her legs up under herself and move.  It didn't go over so well considering she has little upper body muscle...

At first she thought the pillow was just to rest her cute little head on.

 Then she figured out how it worked!  I laid in front of the mat and talked to her to try and get her to pull her head up and look at me. 

Friday!

Today we ventured out to Chandler.  We stopped by GoGoNatural and then went to Modern Mommy.  Penelope has been battling gas lately.  We have gotten though it, but I feel so bad for the little one.

She looked super cute today (like normal) but she really didn't want her picture taken.

Since someone....(cMoOuMgh) always complains there are no pictures of me on here...these are for you.  She really likes to curl up on your chest and sleep.  When she is super cuddly this is pretty much all she wants.  Today she is being cuddly.

New Adventures!

Monday night I decided to let Penelope sleep instead of waking her up at 1:00 to see how long she would go.  She slept for 6 hours!  Tuesday night she didn't sleep as long, only 4 hours.  Last night she slept for 7 hours, ate and slept for 3 more!  She is doing so good!  We are really excited!  We are hoping to have her sleeping in her own room soon.


Tuesday Penelope and I went to the dentist for me to get my teeth cleaned and her to hang out with Aunt Amy! They rocked and talked while I got my teeth worked on.  She wore her little pink dress from Matt & Megan.  She wore her bright green diaper to match her cupcake!  

Wednesday we decided to venture to the grocery store!  She did great!!  She slept in the Maya Wrap while I slept.

This was at 8:50 this morning while still sleeping. 

And today we wore our first pair of baby legs! They are still a little big but super cute!!

Today we plan to hang out at the house and relax! Tomorrow we will probably venture out again! Such a sweet baby girl!

Today Meredith had to go back home so Penelope spent most of her day with Aunt Mimi.  Mom got a nap! Yay!  We took Meredith to the airport at 4 but didn't get out for much of anything else.  Penelope has been having some issues with gas in her tummy but we are learning how to make it all better.  We are all learning!  Here is today's picture!

The Weekend!

We have had a busy, fun weekend!  Friday Meredith and I were at the house most of the day just hanging out except a short period where we went to Carter's and Target to get a few things.  Penelope sported a cute little outfit:

On Saturday we went to a Diaper Change.  There were people all over the nation who changed cloth diapers all at the same time on Saturday to set a world record for the most cloth diapers changed at once and to raise awareness for cloth diapers and how good they are for the world and babies.  It was a cool experience!  We got fun swag bags that had several samples of laundry detergents, reusable wipes and some coupons!  There were also some people selling diapers, gently used or new along with some other baby & diaper stuff.  After the change they had some prizes.  I won a Maya Wrap!  I will post pictures of it when I figure out how to use it!  Here are some pictures from the Change.  

Penelope wore a dress her Grandma made that we got soooo many compliments on!  She looked so stinkin cute!

This guy won dad of the day award in my book because he stood behind his wife & baby holding a blanket up for shade.  Here is is messing with his phone, but most of the time he held it flat out to block sun!  How sweet!

Today we went to church, napped, and hung out.  To church Penelope wore a dress smocked by Grandma that was her Aunt Mimi's when she was a baby.  She also wore her sweet little shoes!

Meredith leaves tomorrow and this week will be nice and busy.  Penelope and I are going to start baby massage classes this week along with some friends of ours. There is also a place out here that does free swim lessons until 6 months old we are going to look into .  It should be a fun week!

Thursday

Today Meredith (Chris's sister) flew in to spend a few days with us.  This morning Penelope and I got up, went to the airport to get Meredith, had breakfast, went to the doctor, went shopping and had lunch with Chris then headed home.  

The doctor's appointment went really well. Dr. Alexander was really happy with her weight gain and was very pleased with how she is doing!  She weighed in at 8 lb 9 oz today!  She is growing SO much!  Our little cutie!

This afternoon she was worn out...that left the afternoon for naps...it was a good one...

Pictures from yesterday.  We went and got weighed then went to the Department of something or another to get Penelope's birth certificate then headed home.  She was out for the morn so she needed a good afternoon nap and I couldn't get her to calm down to sleep, but she wanted to sleep so we busted out the Moby and she curled up and slept!  Sweet Baby girl!
